BUILD WITH A VISION, of being the best, and a was a very INFAMOUS successful rap label of the last decade. The label, dominated the billboard charts non-stop, first with DR. DRE'S the chronic, then wit SNOOP DOGG'S doggystyle, then wit 2PAC'S all eyez on me (WHICH IS THE HIGHEST HIP HOP EVER SOLD), and it went on and on.
Deathrow started out wit SUGE knight, threatening NWA?s manager, to let DR. DRE go from his contract, and with dre, came snoop. And then those 3 got more recruited more artists that they knew.
Then in 1995, 2PAC AMURU SHAKUR, was found guilty on weapon and assault charges, So when he was up for parole, SUGE knight paid the fee for his parole which was 1.4 MILLION dollars. Then shortly 2pac joined the DEATHROW RECORDS. After the recruitment of 2pac, there began a war between Deathrow and BAD BOY records, and that time their only artist The Notorius B.I.G. fought alone on the charts wit his debut album READY TO DIE, but it was no match with all tha WESTCOAST. As some people made it into an EASTCOAST/WESTCOAST, tupac was obviously part of westcaost and made songs depicting his love for CALIFORNIA, but at the same time he praised NEW YORK, and still continued to show his love for his EASTCOAST FANS.
This was a company that was highly associated with LA street gangs, and their the artists had a GANGSTA lifestyle, they took out GUNS to solve problems, so.........Eventually the company itself fell apart shortly after the SO-CALLED DEATH of 2PAC shakur. After the death of 2pac, SUGE KNIGHT went back to prison for parole violation, and it was up to SNOOP DOGG to continue to keep the record company 2gether, but he pussyied out, and ran to NO LIMIT RECORDS.
Then after the selling out of SNOOP DOGG, the other members after realised that there was no chance in hell that this company will ever get back on their feet, so one by one they split, and put out albums on other labels, but they hardly sold, those albums were an embarresmand. DAZ dillinger, who was the last man, who stayed wit deathrow, until the end, finally at the end joined his old friend KURRUPT, and his DPG RECORDS, and produced his album that is selling like crazy, its called THA STREET IS A MUTHA.
